Welcome to KISS – Korean International Statistical Society!

The Korean International Statistical Society is a non-profit corporation dedicated to educational, charitable and scientific purposes. It was officially incorporated on Mar 8th, 2011 as a non-profit corporation in Oregon, U. S. A. and was determined as a 501(c)(3) public charity by IRS. The membership is open to all individuals and organizations who are interested in Statistics/Biostatistics.

‏KISS Career Development Award:

The KISS Career Development Awards are to recognize statisticians who are in the early stages of their careers and who have demonstrated outstanding productivity and the potential to make significant contributions to the field of statistics.

This year’s awardees are

Youngdeok Hwang: Research Staff Member, IBM Thomas J. Watson Research Center
Dr. Hwang has developed new statistical methodologies and innovative applications of computational physics models to solve real problems in industry.

Sungkyu Jung: Assistant Professor, Department of Statistics, University of Pittsburgh
Dr. Jung’s research focuses on the theoretical study and methodological development of high-dimensional and non-Euclidean data analysis.
